Buka Puasa In Jalan Raja and Dataran Merdeka
All adherents of Islam are invited to a public breaking of fast, or buka puasa, to be held every Ramadan weekend during the Ramadan Festival 2013 at Dataran Merdeka. Organized by the National Culture and Arts Department with the support of Jakim and DBKL, the “Jom Buka Puasa” events will have dates, traditional Malay cakes and bubur lambuk porridge, while also having programmes such as religious talks, nasyid singing, Quranic recitation and others.
The 1,600 Pandas World Tour started in 2008 as collaboration between WWF and Paulo Grangeon, an enthusiastic French sculptor who created the 1,600 papier mache pandas. With over 30 years of experience in his craft, Grangeon created the pandas in various poses, emotions and sizes using recycled paper (paper mache), as a symbolic representation of the amount of pandas left in the wild.
